The district nurses offer a full range of nursing services at home. Your call will be answered between 08:00 and 19:00, Monday to Friday and between 08:30 and 17:00, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. At all other times, you should call 111 for assistance. Self-referral is possible but please be aware that the nurses do not bathe patients nor are they responsible for social care.
Our health visitors are based in the practice and give advice and information on health issues to families with children under five years old, and expectant mothers. They do home visits and child health clinics. They also take a special interest in the elderly. They hold a Well Baby clinic at the practice on Tuesdays at 14:00 – 16:00 (no appointment needed). Here, you can get your baby weighed and they will answer any questions you may have.
Our community dietician works with the team and advises them on nutritional matters. She also holds clinics at the practice twice a month when she sees patients who need specialised dietary advice, eg those with diabetes, raised blood pressure or other diseases needing dietary assessment.
